Samsung S8 Launch Date Fixed
Since the debacle of the S7, and now recently, the arrest of their vice-chairman Jay Y. Lee on corruption charges, Samsung could do with some good news. We’ve seen quite a few leaks of the Galaxy S8, and now thanks to ET News, we have the 21st of April fixed as its launch date for sale worldwide. Citing a “high-ranking official for a mobile network provider”, the phone is set to be unveiled in New York City on March 29th.
From the reports seen so far, we are scheduled to see two new phones, the S8 & the S8+ (sound like Apple much?). The S8 is set to have a 5.7″ display, a full 1″ larger than the iPhone7, while the S8+ is reportedly down to get a massive 6.2″ display! Both devices are expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 gigs of Ram, and 12 megapixel cameras. Rumor has it that the S8+ is to include the iris scanner functionality, which was seen in the S7, along with IP68 dust and water resistance.
However the S8’s standout feature will be its buttonless design along with its rounded corners and slim bezels.
If samsung can avoid the disasters it faced with its S7, the S8 might be the finest phone they’ve released till date. In the never ending battle b/w Apple & Samsung, with Google now in the picture with its extremely powerful Pixel device, Samsung needs a home run, badly.
