Lionel Messi Banned For Four Matches
Five and a half hours prior to their game against Bolivia, Argentina has just been dealt a massive blow. Star Player Lionel Messi has been issued a four match international ban by the Football organization FIFA.
The Argentinian & Barcelona Forward was involved in an altercation with the assistant referee in the 1-0 winning game against Chile.
Messi, scoring the only goal in the qualifier, was seen to get angry when he was flagged for a foul, waving and shouting at the assistant in response.
The football star was also fined £8,100, along with missing his country’s next four competitive fixtures. Argentina, which is currently in third place in the South American Qualifiers, has five more matches to play and is severely hurting from the FIFA ban.
Argentina is set to appeal the ban.
